Instructions for Use of Disposable  Speculum :  

1. Choose the appropriate size and type of Graves vaginal speculum based on the patient's anatomy, the physician’s expertise, and the specific procedure being performed.

   
          

2. Hold the Graves vaginal speculum in the dominant hand, using the non-dominant hand to gently separate the labia minora with the second and third fingers. Adjust the speculum until the cervix is clearly visible, ensuring the patient's comfort throughout the process.

3. Once the exam is complete, release the lever, carefully remove the speculum, and dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
   

   
          

PROCEDURE

      Preparation:

• Wash hands thoroughly and wear sterile gloves if necessary.
  

• Ensure that all materials are ready and within reach.
  

• Choose an appropriate site at the vaginal opening to insert the speculum .

  
         

  Patient Positioning:        

  
         

• The patient chooses a comfortable position to lie on the gynecological examination bed

  
         

  Cleaning the insertion site:        

  
         

• Clean the selected site with an antiseptic solution (usually an alcohol swab).
  

• Allow the antiseptic solution to dry completely before proceeding.

  
         

  Inserting the speculum with light:        

  
         

• Choose your dominant hand and hold the handle of the graves vaginal speculum  like a handshake.
  

• Speaking the speculum into the vagina, you will simultaneously push the handle upward with your thumb and stop pushing when the view port is at the right height.
  

• You should see the patient's vagina, indicating that it has been used correctly.
